Fyfield is a rural hamlet in the north
east corner of the district. It was an
important and wealthy place in the
Middle Ages, shown by the size of the
church and number of moated houses.
In 1687, the rector Dr Walker established
a school for the poor children of Fyfield.
The local primary school is still known as
Dr Walker's School today.
